Humanotions is an independent non-profit platform that actively fosters the exchange of constructive ideas of youth through opinion papers and interviews in the fields of International Relations, Political Science, International Law, and related areas via monthly publications.

These notices and policies apply to all content published from 25.04.2025 onwards.

1- General Provisions

  • Our think tank platform has established certain rules and policies to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the published content. This page provides information on how content should be used and the legal responsibilities of the platform.

2- Content Responsibility

  • All published opinion papers and interviews reflect the personal opinions of the columnists. Humanotions does not assume any legal liability for the content and shall not be held responsible for any claims or disputes arising from the opinions expressed in the articles.

 

  • Columnists bear full responsibility for ensuring that their content does not violate any laws, rights, or ethical standards.

  • Columnists are responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of their content. Humanotions does not guarantee the accuracy of published content and does not accept any legal liability that may arise.

  • By agreeing to collaborate with Humanotions, columnists accept the legal and ethical responsibilities indicated by Legal Notices & Policies page.

  • Readers are responsible for verifying the published information and confirming it from different sources. Humanotions does not assume any responsibility for the interpretation or use of the content.

  • The platform reserves the right to evaluate the compliance of published content with ethical and academic standards. However, Humanotions does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of all content and cannot be held responsible for statements made by columnists.

  • Requests for the removal or modification of content containing misinformation, ethical violations, or legal risks may be reviewed by the platform. Humanotions reserves the right to remove content if deemed necessary.

  • By agreeing to collaborate with Humanotions, columnists are committing to providing columns that align with our 7 Core Values: Independence, Diversity & Inclusivity, Originality, Multidisciplinarity, Critical Thinking & Analytical Rigor, Dialogue & Collaboration, Ethical Responsibility.

3- Right To Modify The Content

  • Humanotions reserves the right to make grammatical corrections, revise potentially offensive language that may contain controversial implications, improve readability, or make changes to minimize legal risks.

  • However, no modifications will be made that alter the columnist's opinions or distort the meaning of the article. If significant changes are required, the columnist will be informed.

4- Third-Party Links and External Sources

  • Content published on Humanotions may contain links to third-party sources. Humanotions is not responsible for the content of these external links.

  • The accuracy and reliability of information obtained from external sources are the responsibility of the respective source owners.

5- Protection of Personal Data

  • Humanotions collects personal data such as names, email addresses, CVs, and other shared information during the permanent columnist/guest artist/ guest columnist application process solely for the purpose of evaluating applications, communicating with columnists and designing their profile on Humanotions.

  • By applying to Humanotions, columnists explicitly consent to the collection, processing, and storage of their personal data in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations. Personal data shall not be shared with third parties unless required by law or with the explicit consent of the individual.

  • Requests for the deletion or update of personal data can be submitted in writing to Humanotions via Get in Touch.

​​

  • Although we implement necessary technical measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee complete security due to the inherent risks of the internet.

Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698
​
  • Our think tank prioritizes the security of the personal data of our members, supporters, and collaborators within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") of the Republic of Türkiye and relevant legislation. In this context:

Data Controller and Scope

​

  • Humanotions processes personal data in accordance with the general principles outlined in Article 4 of KVKK, ensuring compliance with the law and principles of good faith, accuracy, and—when necessary—up-to-date information, as well as specific, clear, and legitimate purposes.

Collection and Processing of Personal Data

​

  • Personal data is processed to carry out the activities of our think tank, maintain communication with members and stakeholders, manage event and publication processes, and fulfill legal and administrative obligations.

 

Data Sharing and Transfer

​

  • Personal data is not shared with third parties unless there is a legal obligation or explicit consent from the relevant individual.

  • When it is necessary to transfer data abroad, explicit consent is obtained in accordance with Article 9 of KVKK, or the required security measures are ensured before the transfer.

Data Security 

​

  • Our think tank takes technical and administrative measures to prevent the unlawful processing and unauthorized access to personal data and to ensure data security.

Rights and Application Methods

 

Under Article 11 of KVKK, personal data owners have the right to apply to Humanotions and:

​

  • Learn whether their personal data is being processed,​

  • Request information if their data has been processed,

  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether their data is used for its intended purpose,

  • Know the third parties to whom their data has been transferred, either domestically or internationally,

  • Request correction if their data is incomplete or incorrectly processed,

  • Request deletion or destruction of their data if the reasons requiring processing are no longer valid,

  • Object to decisions made solely based on automated processing if such decisions produce unfavorable consequences for them,

  • Request that third parties to whom their data has been transferred are informed of any corrections or deletions.

KVKK and GDPR Similarities

​

  • KVKK closely aligns with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Both regulations impose strict rules on the protection, processing, and transfer of personal data. Some key similarities include:

  • Explicit consent principle: Both regulations require the explicit consent of individuals before processing their personal data.

  • Data security and confidentiality: Organizations must take administrative and technical measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access.

  • Data subject rights: Individuals have the right to learn what personal data is being processed about them, request corrections, and demand deletion.

  • Right to object to automated decision-making: Both GDPR and KVKK grant individuals the right to object when decisions affecting them are made solely by automated systems.

  • Applications regarding personal data can be submitted in writing or through other methods determined by our think tank in compliance with KVKK.

  • This provision establishes the general framework for our think tank's personal data processing practices, while additional detailed policies and privacy notices may also be published.

6- Legal Disputes

  • Users agree to first attempt amicable solutions to resolve any legal disputes that may arise with the think tank.

  • Humanotions reserves the right to unilaterally update these legal notices and policies as necessary.

7- Feedback Mechanism

  • Users can provide feedback if they believe that the content published on Humanotions contains offensive language, misinformation, ethical violations, or legal risks. In such cases, the reader should submit a clear feedback outlining the cause and effect relationship.

  • Feedback can be submitted through the Get in Touch section, and all reports will be carefully reviewed by the think tank administration.

​​

  • Humanotions will evaluate the feedback transparently and take necessary actions, such as modifying the content, adding clarifications, or removing it from publication if required.

  • Users should be assured that their feedback will be taken seriously and that the review process will be conducted objectively and fairly.
