Collaboration Framework
Guest notionists must participate in 1 publication and can join a maximum of 3.
Permanent notionists are required to submit a minimum of 7 papers within a year. For instance, if a notionist joined the permanent team in August 2025, they must submit at least 7 pieces by August 2026. The notionists are free to skip any month they would like to within this frame.

However, if a permanent notionist does not submit 7 pieces within a year, they will be removed from the core team and moved to the guest section, even if they have submitted more than 3 papers.

The papers should be sent to hello@humanotions.com.
The Process to Become a Permanent Notionist
1- If we extended an invitation to you to participate in a publication, you are expected to pitch your piece as described here.
2- If a demo piece is requested, get it to us by the deadline we set. A special, individual deadline for your demo piece will be shared with you.
3- If you are requested for the complete piece, begin working on your submission and submit the draft by the 5th of the month in which you were invited to participate. Note that the deadline will be updated by 2026.
4- If both parties are satisfied with the ongoing progress of the piece, we expect you to submit the final version by the 15th. Note that the deadline will be updated by 2026.

5- Once you submit the final version, we will carefully review your piece, and make a decision based on our overall collaboration. If we believe that a long-term collaboration would be mutually beneficial, we will extend you the position via email.
6- However, if we believe that your contributions would be better suited for a guest role, we will happily feature you in that capacity. If you end up being a guest notionist even though you applied to be a permanent, please don’t take it personally. Our guests are frankly as valued as our core team.

7- Once your piece is live, give it a througout review and let us know right away if anything’s missing.
Track the Progress
You will be able to track your progress through the documents we send you following our first collaboration.

Please make sure to write your name on the participation sheet that we will provide for the months in which you would like to participate in the publications. We will send this document after our first collaboration as well.

Got Ideas? We’re Listening
Being part of the core team means that your feedback will be invaluable as we navigate upcoming changes together. We would therefore be glad to involve you in future discussions and to seek your opinion on any adjustments we implement in Humanotions.
Future Opportunities
At Humanotions, we see collaboration as the starting point of long-term partnerships. If we continue to work well together and new positions open up, we would be delighted to consider involving you in a more permanent role.
Continuing Our Journey
Completing your 7-piece contribution is just a milestone, not the end. After our 7th collaboration, you are welcome to continue sharing your work and ideas with us.

6- We welcome guest notionists to join us for up to 3 collaborations. If you ever feel you have something meaningful to share with the world, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Crossovers (Guest to Permanent or Permanent to Guest)
If you have applied to be a guest notionist and would like to become permanent, we may consider a transition if we see it suitable for you. However, this decision also depends on the availability of a permanent notionist position. If no position is available at the time you notify us, we will place you on a waitlist and offer you the position as soon as an opening occurs.

If, for any reason, you decide that you will not be able to contribute the 7 pieces you previously agreed upon, inform us as soon as possible so we can move your profile to the guest section.
Wait-List
Given the overwhelming number of participation requests we’ve been receiving, we’re introducing a monthly limit to maintain balance. This ensures that every piece we publish meets our high standards of quality over quantity. To keep things fair, a waitlist will now be in place.

If you wish to participate in a month that is already fully scheduled, please email us to be added to the waitlist. If a notionist withdraws, we will notify you and offer you the spot as a replacement.

Applicants who wish to become permanent notionists (currently we are not accepting permanent notionist applications) should indicate this in their application. If we find the request suitable, they will be added to the waitlist. Once their turn comes, depending on availability and timing, they may be invited to join when a permanent position opens.
Testimonials
After our last collaboration, we might invite you (guest or permanent) to write a short testimonial. Your insights could inspire future notionists and give them a glimpse of what it’s like to collaborate with us.
Columnist’s Take
You may receive an invitation to join the Columnist’s Take series. This initiative involves creating a short video where the notionist shares insights about their column. By agreeing to send us your video, you give us permission to edit the content and share it on our social media platforms.
You can check our social media for examples.
Social Media Posts
We create our social media posts with great care and creativity. We basically copy-paste your sentences to the posts and add the 3D chrome visual we design to your post to give a little sneak peek to our social media followers.
However, if you’ve written a very long sentence, we may edit or shorten it to fit the design of the post, without changing its meaning. As a precaution, we highly recommend reviewing your piece once it is published.
Expectations
If it becomes evident that a notionist has not been upholding our core values, meeting deadlines, or following our policies, Humanotions reserves the right to revoke their permanent or guest columnist status.
This measure ensures that our time, a resource we highly value, is invested in collaborating with individuals who are genuinely committed to creating value with Humanotions.
