Power has returned as the primary language of international relations. Not hidden, not disguised, but openly asserted. And pretending otherwise does not make Europe principled, it makes Europe irrelevant.

There is no common objective of what NATO wants to achieve, be it a common military industrial production facility, increasing the efficiency of its output, or a procurement policy. Rather, Europe made itself content with pleasing the old Trumpian rhetoric, which puts ‘paying’ as the paramount metric to determine what foreign policy to implement.

Including national minorities in the national and European dialogue in politics and resource allocation is essential to securitize the continent against power that tries to hold back the continent.

The White Paper's ambitions, the citizen's’ calls for greater unity and security, all point towards a singular truth: to truly safeguard peace and security. The EU must take a big step towards a truly united Union, to forge a defence capable of meeting the challenges of our time.
