Guidelines For Republishing

Opinion papers and interviews published on our Humanotions are subject to specific copyright and usage rules. Columnists and Third-Parties should evaluate how and under what conditions the columns can be republished on other platforms according to the principles outlined below.

These notices and policies apply to all content published from 25.04.2025 onwards.

1- First Publication Rights

  • The first publication rights of published content belong to Humanotions.

  • The intellectual property rights of published content belong to the author. However, the first publication rights remain with the think tank for two months, during which the author cannot republish or sell their article for commercial purposes.

​​

  • Republishing content on another platform is subject to specific conditions.

2- CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 Terms

  • The content published on this platform is protected under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 (Attribution – NonCommercial – ShareAlike) license. Under this license:

Attribution (BY – Attribution)

​

  • Anyone sharing or using the content must clearly attribute the original columnist and Humanotions.

  • The attribution must include the following elements:

    • Columnist's name

    • Think tank's name

    • A link to the original content (if available)

    • Attribution should be given as follows: "This column was originally published on the Humanotions website on [Date]. For the original version: [Original Link]"

Non-Commercial Use (NC – NonCommercial)

​

  • If the columnist wishes to use the content for commercial purposes, they must obtain written permission from the Humanotions. Otherwise, other websites, organizations, or individuals cannot republish the content for commercial activities, paid publications, advertising revenue, or other profit-driven uses without permission.

  • If the content is to be used for commercial purposes, written permission must be obtained from both the think tank and the columnist.

Note for Transparency: We request that columnists seek our prior permission before selling their columns to ensure the protection of Humanotions. Selling columns may involve copyright considerations from the purchasing institution, which could have implications for us. Therefore, we kindly ask that you inform us and obtain our consent, as well as share the terms and conditions set by the organization interested in purchasing your work, before proceeding with any sales. 

 

  • If the content is sold for commercial purposes, Humanotions preserves the righ to decide whether to keep the original version on the platform.

ShareAlike (SA – ShareAlike)

​

  • If the content is modified or derivative works are created, the same license conditions must be maintained.

  • That is, derivative content must also be shared under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license and the same restrictions must apply.

  • The person modifying the content must explicitly indicate the modifications

3- Modification And Updates

  • If significant changes are made to the title, content, or format before republishing, these changes must be reported to Humanotions.

  • If the content is translated into another language, Humanotions must be notified of the translation.​​​​

  • Since theses and academic publications are subject to different academic and institutional processes, exceptions may apply. Columnists should contact Humanotions for approval before republishing such content elsewhere.

4- Legal Responsibility

  • Columnists bear legal and ethical responsibility for content republished on other platforms.

  • Humanotions does not assume any control or responsibility over content published on third-party platforms.

​​

  • If the content's original context is distorted or manipulated upon republishing, Humanotions reserves the right to delete the column and the profile of the columnist.

5- Guideline Updates

  • Humanotions reserves the right to update these guidelines as necessary.

  • Any changes made will be announced to the columnists transparently.

​​

  • By collaborating with Humanotions, columnists agree to comply with these rules.
